Student Empowerment

john henry primary school

Welcome to our webpage dedicated to student empowerment at our John Henry Primary School! Our overall goal is to empower our students, staff, and wider community by promoting a common understanding of the roles and responsibilities of our Student Representative Council (SRC) and school leaders.

By the end of 2023, we envision a school community where all individuals have a shared knowledge and appreciation for the important work carried out by our SRC and school leaders. We aim to provide our students with increased voice and agency, enabling them to showcase their leadership skills.

To achieve this goal, we have developed a comprehensive action plan. Regular opportunities for feedback will be integrated into various aspects of school life, including classroom activities, extracurricular involvement, and dedicated leadership programs such as excursions and lunchtime clubs. Additionally, we will hold frequent academy and SRC meetings with clearly defined goals.

In order to measure our progress, we will rely on a combination of observations and surveys to gauge the outcomes of our efforts. This data will inform our ongoing commitment to student empowerment and guide our decision-making processes as we strive for continuous improvement.

Our action plan encompasses three key goals

The J.H.P.S. Professional Learning Team will continue to monitor the work that is being undertaken and we will review the feedback on our SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals. Our commitment to student empowerment is an ongoing journey, and we are dedicated to refining our strategies to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students, staff, and wider community.
