At JHPS we pride ourselves on providing the highest quality teaching and learning opportunities for our community. Our Year 5 and 6 students participate in an electives program that allows them to engage in an area of interest to them. The program draws on the skills and passions of teachers in our school community to provide new learning experiences.

Grade 5 and 6 is a great time for students to have new learning opportunities and pursue certain areas of passion.
The elective program is designed to give students a unique opportunity to experience and try new learning areas.

Students will choose one elective for each session (2 sessions) and complete this for the entire term.  

Students are provided with a number of elective choices each term, from which they select their favourites. The available activities change each year, however a broad range of all subject areas is always offered. Some of the favourites from 2021 include: Kids in Kitchen, Unique Sports, Bike Ed, Mandarin, Outdoor Ed, Debating, Boys Art, Karate, Dance, Coding and STEAM.
